Part 11: Frame bypass

Part 11: Frame bypass

In this part, How i made the frame narrower.

The frame needs to get a "Bypass" to make room for the 16" travel Air-shocks.If i didn't do this i would have to limit the travel of the rear axle and that wouldn't be an option in this build.

First i need to get rid of a piece that was used to create a position for the old leafspring mount.
The part is removed and can only be found on a LWB Zuk.
Cleaning the frame where it's going to be cut.
This is the 100x50x3 boxsection cut at a 2×22,5 degree angle which makes 45 degrees in total
Measure to check.
And weld.
The position it's going to be in.
Removed a crossmember, It was only there to attach the stock shocks to.
Both sides clamped in place to mark the frame for the cuts.
Frame cut from the bottom first, Then i welded a angle iron to both ends of the frame to keep the length of the frame in his orginal size.
Frame cut.
There it goes.
Bypass piece clamped in place with a little help of a boxsection to keep it all nice and straight.
Welding in progress.
One side done, just the tag welds.
The other side, still with the angle iron on it to keep the distance.
Both sides done.
